Q: What age groups does the Junior Development League provide events for?
A: U6-U8! That being said, the JDL normally has combo teams at U6 and U7. This means that we’ll usually have two age groups with multiple division in each age group. One for U6/U7 combo teams, and one for U8 teams.
Q: I have a question or concern regarding a matchday experience. Who should I contact?
A: You should first contact your Head Coach and/or Club Official. If needed, your Club Official can escalate the matter to the League Director.
Q: Is the JDL a sanctioned league?
A: Yes! The JDL is sanctioned by USSA Soccer.
Q: Can my player compete in the JDL and the WPL/RCL?
A: Yes! Because we have a different sanctioning body, the JDL welcomes players that are also competing in other leagues.
Q: Our team is not ready to commit for the season, but we would like to come to a single event. Is this possible?
A: Of course! The JDL Cup and JDL Jamboree are open events. You can contact the League Director to see if there is room in the upcoming event.
Q: Do we need to be part of a club in order to have our team participate in the JDL?
A: You do not need to be part of a club in order to participate in the JDL. We can accept individual teams on a case-by-case basis.
Q: I coach a recreational team. Can we participate in the JDL?
A: Yes!
Q: Can I enter my team in the JDL Cup, but not the JDL Regular Season?
A: Yes!
